Wingshooting
If you love nothing more than the thrill of seeing a dog on point followed by an explosion of wild quail, or to hear the “roar” of a massive stag echo off of the canyon walls, you need to come experience Patagonia Wingshooting.
We offer flexible programs tailored to your group’s goals. Join us for a dedicated, quail-only adventure on exclusive weeks designed for upland purists, or choose a mixed itinerary combining quail, waterfowl, fly fishing, and other Patagonian outdoor experiences. Whatever combination you’d like to pursue, we will craft the ideal trip for your group.
Also, to make your travel worry-free, we provide guests with premium, well-maintained firearms to suit the varied conditions of our hunts. For quail hunting, we offer Beretta Silver Pigeon over-and-under and side-by-side 20-gauge shotguns. For waterfowl, we use Franchi inertia-driven, semi-automatic 12-gauge shotguns.
Whether upland, waterfowl, or big game hunting, we are committed to offering not just a hunt, but a genuine connection to the land, its people, and the traditions of ethical, sustainable sport.
Upland Hunting
Walk the wide-open spaces of Patagonia in pursuit of truly wild California (Valley) quail over our expertly trained dogs. Our upland program is designed for hunters who appreciate the art of the hunt: the teamwork with pointing dogs, the excitement of the flush, the challenge of busting coveys in rugged terrain.
Our upland grounds span over 200,000 private acres in the Andean foothills of central Patagonia.
Hunters will walk through rolling grasslands, sagebrush flats, brushy draws, and light forest, all under the vast Patagonian sky and against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes.
California (Valley) quail were introduced to this region in the 1980s and have since flourished in the Andean foothills. Coveys typically number 30–50 birds, with larger groups of 80–100 not uncommon. Wary, fast, and capable of challenging even experienced wingshooters, they offer the perfect quarry for those seeking a true wild bird hunt.
Each pair of hunters is accompanied by a guide with one or more dogs. We consider our dogs to be partners, not tools. Our English Pointers locate the birds with precision and style, while our flushing and retrieving breeds—including well-trained Springer Spaniels—ensure birds are brought to hand efficiently and ethically.
Waterfowl Hunting
Wake up before dawn and make your way to a secluded Andean lagoon where the blinds are already set and waiting for you, the decoys are out, and the Labrador Retrievers are ready and eager — and then the whistle of wings announces the start of a fun day. Wingshooting offers a classic waterfowl experience in breathtaking mountain settings, with minimal local pressure and a focus on ethical, well-managed hunts.
Our waterfowl hunts take place on private lagoons and wetlands tucked among the Andean foothills.
Each location is carefully scouted for duck concentrations and shooting opportunities. This hunting region is home to a variety of native South American ducks, including Speckled Teal, Yellow-billed Pintail, Silver Teal, and Southern Widgeon.
Guests hunt from comfortable, well-camouflaged American-style blinds over strategically arranged decoy spreads. Our Labrador Retrievers are essential partners in the hunt, trained for reliable retrieves in varied conditions. Their discipline, enthusiasm, and effectiveness ensure an ethical, efficient, and fun hunt.
